Me and my band are going to busk; with me on acoustic and vocals, the guitarist on acoustic and maybe electric guitar plus backing vocals, and then the drummer with just a kick drum, high-hat and snare.

This is our set list:

Ramble On - Led Zeppelin
Little Wing - Jimi Hendrix
Business Time - Flight of the Conchords
Brown Sugar - Rolling Stones
A Favour House Atlantic - Coheed and Cambria
Psycho Killer - Talking Heads,
Orinocho Flow - Enya

We also might throw in a few acoustic versions of our own songs.
Does this look good? - This is our first time busking so I thought I would seek some good advice

Thanks xx

Can your vocalist really sing high enough for Coheed? That one's really, really risky.

Busking is street performing

haha It sounds surprisingly good as a quite aggressive, rocked up cover, that sounds pretty good acoustic too if you do it right.

I can sing it in a lower octave, which works for acoustic.
I wouldn't dream of even trying to hit the notes Sanchez does haha

If you're gonna be busking you need folk music. People aren't gonna wanna listen to Flight of the Conchords when you're busking. The classic rock you've got in there will be good. Here's some more suggestions...

Acadian Driftwood- The Band
The Weight- The Band
A Cautionary Song- The Decemberists
Chinese Children- Devendra Banhart

Also, just spur of the moment jams would be pretty good.
I can honestly say I have really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like.

I don't always post on UG, but when I do, I post in the Pit. Stay thirsty my friends.

Do you need a license to busk?

Nope, I thought that originally, but the local council said I don't.
you just need to ask the shops you're playing in front of for permission first.

lol. I'll be honest, I just can't stand it when people cover Flight of the Conchords. I like FotC, but it just pisses me off when other people cover 'em for some reason.

Also, do you guys have busking permits? You might wanna get some if you don't unless you wanna get in trouble with the law. EDIT. nvm

Also, I might have misread, but you guys should find a stand up bassist or something.
I can honestly say I have really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like.

You don't need permits in England generally I don't think: although I think you do in really competitive busking spots like the London Underground.

I might play bass on some songs, like Little Wing, but it would be an electric bass

Oh I see. It's a little different here in the states I guess. But yeah, I think a little bass might be a good idea.

You need Busking permits if you're playing in the really competitive areas (like the underground) or if you're using external power.

Actually? In the city i live in you need to do a bunch of paper work and stuff. And all the buskers have the licences papers pinned up on their guitar case or something they brought with them.

Well I live in a small town, so it might be different.
But even if they do tell me off, I do have a email from the local council telling me I do not need a liscence to busk.
Are you in the UK or the US?

imo the only busking guitar repertoire i'd like to hear is something related to flamenco or maybe some jazz, the rest is overplayed ****.
