i just bought a crybaby so i thought i'd try some distortion pedals along with it as my friend had found 2 in his garage

one is an Danceelectro Grilled Cheese distortion pedal

one is a rocktek distortion pedal

so i plugged them in and when i press them i get a very faint muffled sound

anyyone know why?

Explain how you have everything set up. Guitar to cable to wah to input on amp, that sort of thing.

You did remember to put a battery in your wah, right?

hook up one pedal at a time (guitar -> distortion -> amp/guitar -> wah -> amp) isolate which pedal is making your chain not work

when you say clean sound, do you mean it's switching your amp to the clean channel? Or just clean as in not distorted?

edit: is this just happening with one of the distortion pedals you got, or both of them?

both of them*

well my experience with danelectro has been bad. I bought a delay made by them and it broke within a day. So they might both be broken if your friend found them in his garage. But try the level or volume knobs on the pedals. Maybe they're just turned right down. Did you pay anything for them?

I have a BOSS MT-2 going to my clean channel. I like it alot, good for metal, but it has such an awesome EQ settings you can get anything from a overdrive tone to a death metal tone. Just play with the EQ's for a while until you find something you like. The manual has some good examples to start you with.

Just use the MG with the footswitch.. The distortion channel on the amp should be enough for rock.
