Which low watt amp would you choose?

Epi Valve Jr - http://www.thomann.de/ie/epiphone_valve_junior_head.htm

Harley Benton GA5H - http://www.thomann.de/ie/harley_benton_ga5h.htm

Big White Monkey "The Kong" - http://cgi.ebay.ie/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250456443124&fromMakeTrack=true

Also which bloody cab to use?

I'm really thinking of getting this deal here: http://www.thomann.de/ie/harley_benton_ga5hg112v.htm

Simply because it seems like unbelievable value and I reckon I'd have tons o fun with it. Just a bit curious about the cab though. Has anyone used it?

The head is exactly the same as the epi - made in the same factory (they scrape the epi logo off the metal inside) and has the added bonus of the tone knob -
FOR LESS MONEY!!!

Wouldn't the cab therefor be pretty much the same as the epi cab?
What's anyone's opinion on the epi cab?

Sorry for the weirdness/madness of this post. I think I'm a little excited.

I have the credit on my card right now and really want to place me an order.

The combo is €100 more I'd like to add. However I agree it is a better amp though.

Get a Vox AC-4. It wipes the floor with the Valve Junior.

Thanks, but for this price:

Well, no thanks.

I'm not gonna be using this thing much. Maybe just for studio and home recording, writing new tunes, jamming to pearl jam etc.

I can modify the crap outta this thing too in my own time and proably get it sounding even better than the Vox. All the VJ mods work on it.

Well you could get the combo for the AC4...

Fair warning though. 5watt is louder than you think. Cranked up you will still be very loud, especially at home...

I meant the combo, but I suppose €100 is a bit much. Look into the new Bugera V5 that's coming out. Same price (roughly) as the Valve Junior/Harley Benton, but has a built in attenuator like the Vox, as well as reverb.

Lemme have a look at that.

Can you cab it to 4ohm? I have a 412 at 4ohms and would like any amp I get to be compatible if possible.

Actually the Vox does NOT have an inbuilt attenuator. It has a kind of Power Scale, which is even better!

Still a little pricey for me.

This is honestly just a gift from me to me for quitting smoking.

I reckon if I survived ok on the money I had when I was smoking, then why not spend now what I've saved on lovely little musical bits and pieces.

Exactly. The Harley Benton is very good, but I'd get an overdrive with it if you want any OD tones at decent volumes.

Listen man:
I own the GA5. Killer amp really. You put a pedal through there, oh my lord, it's great. Also, it has a great bass sound. But go for the GA15 combo, really. It's the same, but more power.

I had one, I know what it had! Attenuator isn't quite the right term I suppose...

Now I'm gonna have to get an Ibanez TS to finish it all off.

Goddammit!

I only managed to fit every pedal I own perfectly into my board today....
