Three things:
-Sometimes companies make stuff like this just for NAMM for a bit of extra flash and don't release them
-I can't stand how the 6505+ sounds
-It looks cool anyway.

Is this replaceing the 6505? It looks like a simpler 50 watt head, like that new JSX comin out.

Agreed on all points. I don't think we'll be seeing these in stores. It reminds me of the Plexiglass Fuchs amps they had at NAMM (I think) two years ago.

I don't like the way the tolexed part comes down at the top, like the Windsor. If they would've left it the same as before and just added the LEDs instead of putting the wood backing on it, like it has now, it'd look way better IMO.

I've had tube amps for a while now, but never actually had any go down on me

maybe you're not saying the right things? an amp likes to know you care.

Yes, those were the NAMM amps. One showed up for sale a while ago, didn't have nearly enough money.

Word.

Plus like Roc said - NAMM is not the real world. They advertised the new 6505+ combo as being 'Made In The USA' too.

*not a fan of the oval, reminds me of Fords....and Windsors*

Wasn't it on fleabay a few months ago? I saw that and got sad when I saw the price. Wasn't it like $6000 or something?

It was a Fuchs ODS100. Without the plexiglass, it would have retailed for around $4800. But still, $1200 is a little much for some plexiglass.

I like that piece of tolex coming down with the Peavey symbol.
Looks good on the new Vyper series as well.

Head and Cab for $130? You don't need a head and cabinet, you need a psychological examination.

I think the 6505's need to have separate EQ for the two channels. The clean channel is way too twangy. I love my 6505+'s separate EQ to ever think of getting rid of it for a blue light up one. Still looks sweet though.

There are TONS of people who love the 'ford' tolex oval so don't be ashamed. If you like it that is really all that matters...

..

Edit: Kids, don't buy an amp based on looks. Buy it on tone qualities. There are plenty of ugly amps out there that kick serious ass.
