Are tom toms not as good/do they not have the street names or work in europe?

that would defeat the purpose of it being called a "GPS" would it not?

Yeah i don't get how they can call it a GPS if it doesn't work globally... Haha

But do you all think that the Garmin nüvi270 is the best deal? It doesn't say street names, though...

I really just want to find a cheap one that works in Europe and says street names!!

garmin isnt great. i used one and it took me through about 50 sets of lights for no reason.

i own a navman S300T or something; the best navman you can get. it's been excellent. the cheaper navman's arent great, though.

i've heard nothing but good things about tomtom, but i've never used one. my girlfriends dad owns a 700 model, i dont remember which one; its one of the most advanced ones, and he thinks it's great.

tomtom basically has one goal - get you from A to B. if you're looking for a cheaper GPS, then i'd recommend tomtom. you wont get all the bells and whistles, but it'll get you where you want to go without breaking down.

I have a Garmin. It was about $130 I think, and it works great. Plus, the Australian accent sounds like Dr. Chase from House!

Thanks a lot, everyone (especially instagata)

I'm thinking of getting that Garmin nüvi 270 because I found it for $119.99... Even though it doesn't speak the street names, it displays them on the screen, so that should be good...? I don't know... We'll see...

You cant beat a map.

Unless you're a retard and cant use one, in which case you deserve to get lost

This (or the US equivalent, anyway).

SatNavs are for idiots. If you haven't got a basic idea of where you need to go to get somewhere, and then supplement that with a map, you shouldn't be allowed to drive.
