Hi.

I'm learning the solo from Mr. Big - Nothing But Love and Paul does these bends that slowly go into harmonics, how do you do them? I know how to do normal harmonics.

Thanks.

Well, it probably doesn't help, but I've noticed that if I play certain notes from certain spots on my guitar they turn into harmonics just like in the song. I'm a little curious too.

I haven't heard the song but maybe he taps on the harmonic?

If you quickly/lightly hit onto the note an octave (12 frets) higher that you are fretting, then it will make it into a harmonic.

Just listened to them live in Paris doing that song...

All I heard was pinch harmonics, and maybe using the neck pickup to get that blurry kinda sound

I do believe sustianiac and fernandes pick ups are capable of this, or any sustainers I suppose.
Basically it allows you to sustain a note, and then toggle it to make harmonics.
Not know too much about it, but Steve Vai used it on the Halo game. The intro squeal that goes on forever.
But the tap harmonics is a really good suggestion, it's likely to be those.

something like that perhaps.
note, there's the switches on the guitar, watch his right hand carefully.
