Hey look! a New Thread button!

anyways, I'm just curious, can anyone help me choose a amp <$1000 and a cab <$1000? Genre: Metalcore, Deathcore, anything toolish sounding and stuff,

My ideas:

Amps:
Peavey 3120
Bugera 333xl
Randall RH50t

For the cabinets, I really don't know anything about them. I'm hoping someone does, but all I've heard is Marshall's, Mesa's, Avatar, and Vader.

I'll probably some small gigs and some medium ones eventually. Mainly, I just want to play with my friends 6505+ and hear myself.

Thanks to any advice, and jokes made at me

The Douche.

(p.s, yes, I've made this thread before, but now I've looked into a lot more stuff, and just want a second opinion again.)

((double p.s. links to other threads like this would be nice and will save time))

Can't you just buy a 6505+ yourself?
Seems the best option for that price.
especially if you don't give a damn about cleans.
the cab is about 800 and the head about 1200 here in europe.
That way you should be set to go.

6505/5150 would do you justice on your head. As far as cabs go, I'd say go with a custom built Avatar 2x12 with Eminences of your choice. (Try to equal the power to right at 100 watts or a little less)

Laney VH100R?

That's a stretch to find at under $1000.

Ah, of course - they're much more expensive to non-Brits, the same way Boogies cost almost twice as much over here

Thanks for all the advice, but I'm curious. Are Vader cabs any good? and has anyone played the 3120?

I haven't played the new 3120's but i have heard that they're a similar sort of high gain breed as the 5150/6505.
Vader cabs are unreal for an overall clear sound. Very tight low end.
It's basically your Mesa Oversized cab, with Emminence speakers instead Celestion V30's.

If I were you, either 3120 or 6505, but that's just my 2 cents

The 3120 is pretty much a newer version of the XXX with different tubes coming stock. The XXX was an updated version of the Ultra...and so on. Anyway...I'd recommend the 3120 or used XXX over the 6505 if you need a good clean channel. And stay away from Peavey cabs...especially the one that comes with the Windsor/3120.

I agree with this and Peavey cabs.

but I would like to stand up for my 6505 and say that the clean channel is pretty nice sounding

I wouldn't recommend getting a 6505 when your other guitarist already has one.

ENGL Fireball: this has a more crystaline clean channel, and it's distorted tones are far more bright and natural compared to the Peavey 5150/6505 series'.

As a cabinet:

Another option is to spend less on a cabinet and more on the amp head. That way you can opt for amps such as VHT or Randall.

Randall RM100

This can preloaded with whatever preamp modules you chose. You can check youtube or google concerning sound clips from each individual module. They cost about $150 each and you'll need three.
You can combine it with this:
Mesa Boogier 4x12 w/Vintage 30 speakers.

Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier

it will work with either of the cabinets.
