Hello UG, I recently got a BlackHeart Little Giant and I'm loving it other than the lack of some gain. I think I need an OD pedal but i might just been needing a distortion one. I play classic rock and classic metal (Such as Ozzy Ozbourne, and Lynyrd Skynyrd), and I've been getting into a bit heavier metal lately but my multi effects pedal can do a high gain sound good enough for now.
I'm really lost on which type of OD to get, I would like something that i can really tweak and get alot of different sounds out of it. Sorry if this isn't making to much sense I'm fairly new to pedals.

My budget is $150 but i can go higher, possibly up to $200 but i would prefer not to go above $170.

Thanks

It looks nice but it's way out of budget.

I haven't actually used it, but I like the clips I've been hearing for the Visual Sounds Route 808:

http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Visual-Sound-V2-Series-V2RT808-Route-808-Overdrive-Guitar-Effects-Pedal?sku=150484

The bass boost seems like it would fit if you want to play heavier stuff.

These are pretty good, or get an Ibanez TS9

-Gibson LP VM
-Silvertone Kentucky Blue
-MXR CC Delay
-Ibanez TS-9
-Egnater Rebel 20
-Avatar 1x12

My rig is simple

You're not truly playing guitar unless you know theory.

It's $186, you said you could go to $200. The OCD is good but the BB Preamp is much more transparent. You could also try the Full Drive 2.

It's $186 at every store I've seen it at and I've seen used ones go for as low as $85.

Okay well I'm stuck between the OCD and the BB Preamp, they both look like they do what i need but the ocd is a little cheaper. And I'll think of switching tubes later, I just got this amp. Thanks though, when it's time for tubes i will check those out though.
