So I have been listening to a lot of Van Halen recently. And the song Why Can't This Be Love caught my attention. I wanted to do a cover of it. Does anyone know what effects he uses for that song? I need some help!

Thanks,
Randy

I'm pretty sure that's a keyboard in that song.

Yeah, I know about his phaser, and they do use a keyboard, but Eddie uses an effect that sounds like a flanger but I am not sure, I wanna know before I buy one of those pedals.

I don't really care for Van Halen and I've never heard the song, but if it is a flanger, he's using the MXR flanger.

EVH uses both a MXR Phaser and Flanger, he has Sig versions of each as well. I think that song is flange

It's phaser, and then when he does the very last part, the C-B-C part, he steps on the flanger JUST for that part.
