So i decided to go with the Jcm 800 4104 instead of the Gibson V. Found it in craigslist, he only wanted 650$ which i think is farely cheap. SOunds great, and is in decent condition. It was made in 1984, which i thought was neat. Also had an effects loop built in. Which i do have a question about, but pictures first

(sorry for the dull cell pics, all i had

Now my question is, i plug my EQ into the effects loop, and it works great in the Low Sens. channel, but when i switch to the high sens, channel i can't notice it at all.. I didn't have it cranked, but i could def. hear a difference when it was on the low sens.
Why is it that i don't hear it?

I've had tube amps for a while now, but never actually had any go down on me

maybe you're not saying the right things? an amp likes to know you care.

AFAIK they didn't have loops until the later models. Is it modded in?

awesome amp. i've heard the jcm 800 combos drive a cab very well if not better in some ways than the heads.

First of all, I enjoy deathcore for it's complexity and it's the only genre heavy enough for me

I want an amp good for playing hippie tunes. I want it to be an actual amp, not a tube amp.

I'd wager whoever wired the loop didn't know wtf they were doing.

It happens quite often on those old amps and it's really the main reason I turned down so many tempting modded 800s. You really never know who's done them unless they leave a signature/sticker or the seller has the work order handy.

First you put your pants on your head.
Second you dance.
Third you wipe off all the pussy.

forgive me, but what does that mean?

Ive got an amp with a parallell FX loop and it sucks...

as far as it seems.. half of your signal (at maximum, in otherwords, for me, with the FX signal mix on full) is being sent through your FX loop, and half of it is just how it would be without anything in the FX loop.

So if this were true then for example, putting a distortion into your effect loop on the cleaner channel and then rocking out would give you a strange 'acousticy distortion' and then when you go to pinch you are left with a faded squeal and a wet fart sound.

If you hear the difference strongly on the cleaner channel anyways then i think maybe its just disabled for the hi-gain channel? spose it would be cool if you just wanted a chorus or something for your cleans and not have to pedal dance to kick into your dirty tone, pretty original design although it has its flaws

OH YAH, HNAD!!! ive been after an amp like that
