hey guys im wondering some people say to have emg's really close to the strings but i find that it really gives the guitar a too-distorted sound. is it better to have them closer to the strings or further away ? thanks
personal pref man
cons of close = muddy sound
cons of far = loss of volume
gotta find a balance that works for you!
The internal pre-amp compensates, so it is best to have them as close as possible, without touching the strings of course. It says on their website.

If the sound is too distorted, turn back your amp's gain.
