My power tubes are starting to go on my Chute CC-04 head. I have no idea what tubes to get... I don't care how much they cost, I just want great quality.

For the most part I play rock/classic rock/blues. I play everything, but those tones are most important.

I was looking at this site http://thetubestore.com/el346ca7types.html

and this is my amp http://www.chuteamplifiers.com/

I know Winged C EL34s are really good in Marshalls, not sure what they'd be like in your amp though.

If you like the tubes that it came with, get some more JJ's.

Can't go wrong with JJ.....but I am interested to try the new Mullard reissues. The originals were highly coveted.

Are you talking about those Tech-tubes? Or are there other more original style reissues.

It kinda just depends on whether they actually make them to the old standards, if they do, then they'd be pretty decent I imagine.

In the link he just posted, there are some Mullard brand EL34's. They're being produced in Russia by an American company called New Sensor Corporation who bought the name and trademarks.

They're supposedly a reissue of the original - though I'm not sure how true to the originals they really are.

I think it's worth trying out....

Ruby EL-34BSTRs

Best EL-34s on the market imo, without going with NOS tubes.

I've had tube amps for a while now, but never actually had any go down on me

maybe you're not saying the right things? an amp likes to know you care.

So you think a Nos tube would be better?

Like this http://thetubestore.com/nos-el34-siemens.html

Its like triple the price of the others i've looked at, don't know if its worth it...

NOS tubes will sound better... but IMO, they are just not worth the ridiculous prices they sell for. For the price of retubing that amp with NOS tubes, you could buy 5 pairs of Rubies
