I just ordered an Engl Thunder combo and have a couple questions
Are Engl fixed bias?
Do I have to change the bias if I change the tubes to similar tubes?
Tubes in there are 5881 (which I think are the same as 6L6GC) what is the most similar tube out there that I can easily find as a replacement?
Thanks!

you will have to rebias it, if it got the same small biasrange as the screamer you also have to make sure to tell the company you buy from that it is going to be used with the thunder, so they send some tubes that arfe hot enough to get to the right bias point

you wont get same bias point even if you get the same brand, and i think they use sovtek powertubes, but i recomend you get some JJ for the power, they sound much better, and btw its easy to bias an amp, all you need is a bias tool for like 20 bucks and a multimeter, or just let a tech do it
