i did not with my Epi but when i tuned to like drop C yea...and when u tune back up the buzz is still thr so i wouldnt recommend it

Are you going to keep it in Drop D? Your guitar was set up for that gauge of the low E string to be tuned to E.

If it's something you'll be switching in/out of, it shouldn't be a problem and may only require just the slightest adjustment of the bridge.

If your guitar is permanently staying in Drop D go get a thicker E string. If you have a .046 right now then get something like a .048 or .050.

You could do that. Hell, even if you left the action where it is and dropped your E down to D I'd doubt there'd be any substantial fret buzz.
