Hello Im wondering if an Epiphone Dot Studio would sound similar to the Gibson ES-355 that Noel Gallagher uses?

Thanks Mates

I'm gonna doubt that you would get a very similar tone between an epiphone and a gibson though a pick up upgrade might get you close. I can vouch that the Epiphone Dot is a nice little instrument for the price. My friend has one and I was surprised at the variety or tones I was squeezing out of it. My best suggestion is to try it out at the music store before you purchase it though. Good luck!

Given that Noel Gallagher started off on and did most early recordings on Epiphone semi-hollowbody guitars, I would say yes. I used to own a Dot Studio myself and of course being a cheaper guitar it was far from perfect, but it was certainly in the right ballpark for Oasis tones. Just be aware that you're going to need a decent amp and you're goign to have to know how to EQ everything properly or semi-hollows like that can sound very muddy.
Yes, I know everything. No, I can't play worth a damn.

I got a question for you then. On my current set up i got a Epiphone Les Paul Standard with a Fender Vibro-Champ XD and Ibanez TS-9. Any suggestions on how i should set it up to get that Oasis sound. Ive been playing around with it for a couple of days now and i just cant seem to get the right sound.
