I was wondering, what brand of tubes come stock with this amp? I don't want the tone to be different whenever I have to replace them.

... and yeah, I'm too much of an amp newb to open it up and look without killing myself.

Toss in JJ Teslas. You won't be disappointed.

Feel free to express yours so I can make an informed judgement about how stupid you are.

This. They'll probably be better than the stock tubes. Usually stock tubes are pretty meh.

right Metallica is a given. Personally I like to pretend the bus exploded and killed them all in '86.

I thought Marshall stocked their newer amps with rebranded EHXs? Sovteks are definitely possible though.

Either way, it could benefit from some new tubes.

I've had tube amps for a while now, but never actually had any go down on me

maybe you're not saying the right things? an amp likes to know you care.

Yeah, but I heard a different brand could change the tone. Like the crunch might disappear.

My DSL401 came with Marshall rebranded JJs in it, actually. I was quite surprised.
