Hey guys.
I am soon to be building my own little pro tools set up and it needs firewire ports which I never knew I would need when I first built my PC. I've had a quick look about t'internet and I saw a comment on a fairly cheap one on Novatech that said that it is unsuitable for high quality sound recording and all that jazz.
SO, anybody care to tell me which ones ARE good for this sort of shiz?

I know for sure that If you are going to be using an M Audio interface (which I assume you might be as you're using pro tools) that you need a TI chipset otherwise you'll get all sorts of wonderfull crackles and drop outs on your recording. I know first hand

The one I ended up buying cost me alot but that was because it was the only card I could find that was right for my tower, which was one of those stupid half size ones.

Any firewire card with a TI chipset should be fine for using with any audio interface.

I got the cheapest one on www.newegg.com and it works fine.
