Well i currently own a line 6 spiderIII 75 watt... starting to not like it anymore.. can't get many different tones out of it, lags somtimes while changing channels, digital. the one thing i do like about it is the tuner.. that is pretty much the only thing

I play metal,rock(slipknot/lamb of god/bullet for my valentine/nickelback/green day ect ect)

So i would like an amp with good gain but not a modeling one. Would prefer not to get an MG

My price range is max $800 Canadian. Might be able to go to $1000 canadian but possibly not...

Mostly used for covers/bedroom playing, Maybe in the future gigging. I like Engl amplifiers but they cost so much. Dont care if tube or solid state

If you're into Metal, the Orange Crush series is good...I'd also look at the Roland Cube series of amplifiers for bedroom playing. Both shouldn't set you back too much. Neither of them have on-board tuners, so you might have enough scratch left over to get a Boss tuning stomp box.
I'd like to grow up to be Charles Thompson.

as i said in my first post.. it doesn't have to be a tube amp.. if i got say a 15 watt tube amp. What would that equal for solid state... sound wise.. how many watts would that qual solid state

5150 combo used would be around 600-800
Or are you looking for a head?
Peavey 6505+ Head
Mesa/Boogie Oversized Rectifier 4x12 Cab
Schecter Diamond Series 006
Ibanez SZR720 TGB
Boss TU-2 Chromatic Tuner
Boss NS-2 Noise Suppressor
Roland Micro Cube 10watt

Just to give us a good price range how much is 800 canadian in Pounds and USD's as it will make it easier as a majority of UG is English or American
#13
I would prefer a half stack.. But if it's a combo it doesn't matter either

$1000.00 American= $1117.27 canadian
$1000.00 Pounds= $1578.70 Canadian

If that helps.

you will like the tone of the 5150 especially because you play heavy rock and metal.
It has tight low and and very nice gain

What about a valveking 212 combo? Or even a valveking 100 Head. I also wanna make sure i can plug a multi effects pedal into it

both of them will be good as well.
I play a heavier style of metal and i love the 5150/6505 series, but i have tried tried the valve king and i liked it as well

If I were you, take a test drive on both amps and figure out which one you like better.
Also, you tube demos give a lot of info as well if done by the right person
