hello! Ultimate guitar helps me with so much crap, i decided to as again :P

basically i play metal, rock, classic rock... i need a pedal that i can use with guns and roses.. and bullet for my valentine. ( they like to throw it in for their solos )

i dont really have a price range, but i'd like to keep it around $100 since im looking to buy a new guitar soon, and this is being taken out of my budget.

i've heard a lot about the 535q crybaby, which i could probably pick up around $120 used if i drive to toronto.

any help? my local guitar store is charging $230 for the 535q..... so im not planning on buying that guy new.

im bran new to pedals, so can you explain them a little bit? my guitar teacher said to get one thats true bypass or dont get one at all... and he said the store will do it for like $30. just get a normal crybaby + the mod?

thanks =D ill check this thing in like 15 mins.

a classic crybaby is just fine. i own the 535q and it enables you to just tweak the settings of the wah and get different styles of wah and i often find myself using one setting anyway. if your not incredibly picky about the tone of the wah then a classic crybaby should get the job done.

no do not get the vox

it's terrible with distortion

and don't get any low end dunlop pedals - they sound horrifying and shrill and no sweep

i'd look into one of the morley wahs with your budget/style.

thanks, which one in specific? does long and mcquade carry these?

and trying them out fails because its different amps and guitars. but i guess i could get a feel for them, but even then i could make a huge mistake and buy a **** wah.

well with a wah trying them out with different equipment isn't really an issue as long as you dial in the same EQ settings on the amp and set it with the same amount of distortion that you'd use at home

just try all the crybabys?... from what i heard vox fails for distortion. and anything but dunlop & vox, i cant try out really.

I got my Crybaby at L&M, I'm pretty sure they're also a Vox retailer. Even if they don't have any in stock they can always order one in for you.

Try the Weeping Demon wah ( IBANEZ) many people say it isn't as good as the original Crybaby but it works for me, it has 3 knobs for different tones ( Level, Intensity and Low) and it also lets you adjust an amout of delay when you switch it off so that you can still hear the wah effect...that's very cool..there are other features..Check it out I reccomend it

A Weeping Demon at half the price? Pick it up and you could easily just sell it for $120 or something if you dislike it. Its a decent pedal though.

I could probably get other pedals cheap... If this ones taken what should I look for used??

Nah, I bought my Fulltone Clyde Deluxe at Long and McQuade.

I'd just stay away from Dunlop, TS.

I have the 535Q.
Probably not really worth the extra dough,I don't really use all the other things on it.
But the big shiny dial is interesting.I like shiny. It's the best colour.

Weeping Demon FTW.

Not true bypass, but just buy an AC Adapter and keep the pedal plugged in. The only problem I have with the WD is that the battery life is really short, but with a separately sold AC adapter it's just fine. Just make sure it's 9V.
