I'm sorry if this isn't the right forum for this, but it seemed like the best place to ask.
I'm currently working on a song with a working title of Nova Prospekt. The name is taken from the prison in the game Half Life 2 where brainwashing happens (Nova Prospekt = New Perspective). It's a very conceptual political song, not so much about brainwashing, but more about government disinformation.
I know that you can't copyright a song name, but if Valve owns the intellectual rights to the name Nova Prospekt, would it be illegal for me to name my song that?
I think it should be okay, it's not trademarked or registered. It is a very small part of the game and I doubt many people remember it.

Now if you called your song "halflife2" or something, that would be a different story.

Alright, thanks for the advice. As far as I can tell, the name isn't legally protected other than being in a copyrighted game.
