A friend of mine just bought a "squier series" jazz bass (made in mexico) that looks to be one produced in 1994. Hows the quality on these? thanks

What the hell, I thought Squier's instruments were great quality.
My Rig:
Yamaha RBX 375 bass
Peavey Millenium BXP bass (won at Summer Slaughter 2010, signed by all the bands)
Eden Nemesis NC410 320w combo amp
Check out Tyrannicide, my death/thrash metal band:

well i was wondering because i thought i heard somewhere that the earlier squiers (pre-2000s?) are as nearly as good, if not as good as current mexican made ones. any truth to that?

oh, i dont really know much about the old squiers. I just know i dont like the ones they make now, except the vintage ones they make.

The quality of the 1990s Squier basses are not too shabby and yes, they are better than your average Squier guitar of the same vintage. And thoang77, don't double or triple post--or bump the thread unnecessarily.
