The Giraffes Myspace

Kinda Punk+Balls to the Wall Rock+ a little Metal Sheen+ A little garage-y surf thing+ Can of Kick Ass= freaking sweet

I honestly don't have any one of their albums, but I'm currently looking to check out their upcoming Brooklyn show that will become a filmed, live DVD..

The Giraffes are awesome. I just got into them recently...I only have s/t and Prime Motivator. The latter isn't that great but s/t is amazing. The guitar riffs are some of the best I've heard in a long time.

All I have as well, and I can't stop playing their s/t. More people need to know about them.

Dude, chill?

This thread was bumped from over 3 months ago with that post... in that time I forgot I made one, and since I'm still rather excited about them and surprised they have a rather small fanbase, I'm eager to share... And since mods here are rather touchy on any imperfections in the forum (even to warn me for not amending previous posts to edit...), I am quick to cover my ass.

Very sad news, everyone...I just got an email that said Aaron is stepping down as the front man :/ Here is the email:

"As you may or may not have heard- I am leaving The Giraffes.

After ten plus years, several national tours, three heart attacks, six albums, a zillion wise cracks and enough beer thrown up my nose to drown Kelly Pavlic a thousand times over- I am forced to admit to feeling forced.
I believe that to be true to myself and what the Giraffes stand for- i should step down.
If as the singer i am not feeling it- i could never expect the band to feel it for me - or the fans to feel it either.

I am immensely proud of The Giraffes- and what we have accomplished and i want to say farewell with one hell of a show.

To that end - February 5th at the Mercury Lounge - is the place and time.

If you have ever loved, liked, enjoyed, respected, bad mouthed, chatted up, name dropped, questioned, wrote off, wrote up, shot at, shut down, leered, hollered at, flicked, pissed off, danced to, for, with and because of our little bad-assed band... well... this night is for you.

If you have questions as to why-
This is my email: thegiraffes@optonline.net

be seeing you,
-Aaron Lazar"

I shall be there

I'm surprised they're not that well known. I've managed to get most of the guys in my band into them though. They're by far the most kick-ass band I've ever listened to (defined by the fact I feel like I wanna kick some ass, **** some chicks, and drink hard liquor while listening to them)

Man, I haven't bumped this since that show? wow, killer.

Anyways, they're back and are workin' it without Aaron pretty well. I thought I didn't care for it too much to begin with, but I've already listened to it 3 times in the past 15 minutes. So it's awesome. Check out The Giraffes!:
