I was wondering about and open tuning on a seven string, and i have two ideas for it, and I'd like to know, if either are practical, make sense, and wouldn't limit covers I could do.

open E- EG#BEG#BE - this would allow for the same pattern across the neck, but would it limit any chord, or make things difficult to play?

open A- AEAEAC#E- this would be just like the normal open A, with a lower A on the bottom, giving me an extra deep root, but would it be overpowering to have so much of the root, and so little of the third and fifth?

These are just two examples, i'm not sure exactly which tuning I would use, but these seem to be two decent examples, if you have other ideas, please post them. Also, if you know someone who plays a seven string in any open tuning, please let me know a name, and a band. Thank you.
