Hello, Musicians of the Ultimate Guitar Community

I am looking for some advice, opinions, and wisdom on buying my first left handed guitar. i've got a budget of £2500. i really like the KING V KV2 but its gonna cost me £1900 and won't have much money left over to buy an amp. a friend recomended me the PHIL DEMMEL signature king v because it has similar qualities for almost half the price.

Has anyone had any experiences with them and which one you think is best in terms of value for money

JACKSON PHIL DEMMEL KING V BSB W/C

I currently have a line 6 spider III amplifier but am looking for one that can really harness the full power of the jackson. am i best going for a marshall or mesa boogie tube amplifier?

Thanks for your feedback, really appreciate it

thats a f***ing huge budget for a beginner guitar, personally i'd go for the phil demmel king V because its got a good cheaper price than the other and i have'nt played a kv2 before but the demmel king V was good when i played my friends one

get a right handed and string it upside down. thats what the guitarist for the ataris does. They are cheaper.

LOL, Thanks for the reply man,

I just quit my job and got £3k back from overpaid tax. So i thought i would buy one now before i spend it all.

I think i might be best going with the demmel king V also.

Thanks

LOL, I think the KV2 is a little too expensive for me. Do you think the PHIL DEMMEL signature king v will be be best in terms of value and me being a beginner?

My style of playing is Trash Metal. Slayer,Megadeth,80's Metallica but love all sub-genres of Metal.

String it upside down? I've never stringed a guitar before. Would'nt the whammy bar, volume knobs etc.. get in the way?

Thanx for the advice, i will look into it

you'd also have to either get a new nut or flip the stock one. and readjust the intonation.

Hey Guys,

Turns out they don't make the PHIL DEMMEL signature king v for cack handers
The only left-handed jackson guitars i could find were;

Jackson USA RR1T RANDY RHOADS LEFT HANDED $2199.99
http://www.instrumentpro.com/P-JAC2803161b.html

Jackson DK2L DINKY $799.99
http://www.instrumentpro.com/P-JAC291001.html

Jackson USA SL1 SOLOIST LEFT HANDED $1999.99
http://www.instrumentpro.com/P-JAC2803170b.html

Will these be good for playing thrash metal or should i look outside of jackson. ESP/LTD, ibanez

Have you guys got any suggestion?

Thanks

have you used the DK2L. how does it compare against the king V's in terms of overall performance. Does it give a crunchy metal tone because i can't find an unbiased review of the guitar. there all loaded with affiliate links.

This video was really helpful to me

Being a lefty myself, I've got to recommend this over the DK2L.

The Warlock NT has a superior build and bridge to the DK2L, and it's $100 less.
Use the money you save to buy a good tube amp and some better pickups for the guitar. Trust me, you'll be happy you did.
