Hey guys,
I am planning to move over to bass. I have decided to get Ibanez GSR200. We will be having our college day. We are going to perform on college day. But I don't know what amplifier will I need. Also, I don't have the money to buy a 100 watt amp.

So, if I buy a 30 watt amp and mic it, will it work good?

What I do for guitar is plug my guitar to RP350 and connect it to the mixer. But we never had a bassist and i know nothing about bass. So what is the solution for playing at gigs?

i severely doubt that will work. if i so much as point a mic at my amp or any of the school amps, i get horrendous feedback
DONT RISK IT, BUY A BASS AMP

30w is pretty good for home practise. I've got a little 30w Laney myself which I use at home. I even take it to rehearsals actually when I don't want to take the main rig. It doesn't sound amazing at really high volumes admittedly but my bandmates can hear what I'm playing and for rehearsals that's what matters.
