ds-1 hands down. it's one of the cheapest, it's got a great sound and it's (almost) indestructable. no mystery why it's so popular

probably OD/Distortion like the DS-1 and Tubescreamer

Some sort of Tubescreamer.

In terms of pedals that are not clones, I'd say maybe a Dunlop Crybaby.

I browsed the pedal board thread one day looking for the same thing. The three that kept coming up were the

Boss TU-2 Tuner
Dunlop Original Crybaby Wah
Suprisingly - "Big Muff" pedals.

The DS-1 and DD-7 are pedals that I see a lot of. I havent seen too many DS-1's out here in San Angelo on the gig rigs of my friends. I see the MT-2 with the Death Metal guys, and the OD (TS-9, etc.) on a few.

Wah and overdrive. Behind that is reverb/delay, EQ, and chorus.
Then there's this band called Slice The Cake...

Bunch of faggots putting random riffs together and calling it "progressive" deathcore.
Stupid name.
Probably picked "for teh lulz"

ds-1 for the sole reason that it's cheap and built like a steel block. sounds crappy though. spend double and you get a way better pedal. Digital distortions sound real weird. You never see people gig with DS-1's unless they're modded. Only beginners who don't know how to save money use DS-1's. And a few people who actually like them O.O

Pretty sure DS-1s are just as digital as your Tubescreamer. They're both analog

1. ds-1s aren't digital douchebag
2. i've seen plenty of people gig with unmodded ds-1s
3. ds-1s sound really good as long as you are playing through a decent amp.

Hey a DS-1 is good enough for Vai - a fret magician!

I'd say TU-2 has to be up there surely, cracking tuner pedal. Big Muff's are all over the place, as are cry baby's, nothing beats a cry baby!
