I currently have 10's on but I'm thinking about moving up to 11's for better tone. I doubt 11's will do any damage, but I wonder what is the max gauge a Squier can take? I heard about a guy putting 14's on and warping his neck.

i have and 11 gauge ernie ball power slinky
don't think you should go above that cuz i never taught about the warping thing

That's probably because he didn't set it up right. Theoretically, you can put any gauge on as long as you set up right. I went from 9's to 13's and I had to have another spring put in the back and mine is fine (I've got a cheaper guitar than a squier too....)

Unless you replace the nut I wouldn't put 12's on but 11's should be fine.

14's would be fine if you wanted to stay in Drop C or lower. but they wouldn't be good for playing in standard tuning.

Warping really shouldn't happen unless that neck had a natural tendency to do that anyway.

Bowing is a normal result of uncompensated string tension. Increase the tension on the trussrod to compensate.

You might need to widen the nuts slots for 11's.
You almost certainly will for anything larger.
Increasing the tension of the trem springs will also be necessary, in most cases.

YMMV.

if your neck is good as it is, you should be fine, as long as the strings actually fit in the nut as has already been pointed out

sir, i would like to inform you that you are now my favorite UGer. Not only did you use the word y'all, which is native to my homeland, but you correctly punctuated it using the apostrophe.

Just going to support what the others have said: yes the neck will take it.

I have 13's on my old one, and while I had to widen the nut some, the neck is fine.

I used 15s for a few months on my bullet. In standard tuning.

I had to widen the nut slots, but I'm back down to 9s now, with the same nut.

...
You're a mad man.

TS, I use 11's on my Squier, all you need to do is a full setup and change the tension in the Trussrod, and you'll be fine. You'll most likely also have to widen the nut slots a bit for the 4-5-6 strings

I'd like to say it was the spirit of SRV himself, but I just think its a very good real life example of how the guitar can be pushed to its limits,
