Well, I was craigslist whoring and I found this:

http://toronto.en.craigslist.ca/tor/msg/1232316634.html

The headstock looks identical to the Fender '75 Jazz http://www.fender.com/products//search.php?partno=0190302821 but the screws on the pickguard look like the squier.

Which one is it? If it is a real Fender, I might nab it to learn slapping. Or, I can get it and play it until I can sell it higher.

It looks like it may be a Squier VM, which isn't a bad bass, but only if it's not a Fender. It doesn't look like a copy.

NECESSARY EDIT: It says right on the page that it's a Squier with a Fender neck...

Fender Jazz Bass replica by Squire.
'nuff said. I'm sure it's a pretty good bass nonetheless.

where's it say it's a Fender neck? If I missed that, I'm retarded. But it says (from what can see) that it's a "replica"

edit: This question does make me feel retarded, but the Fender head decal is throwing me off. I really want to check, 'cause I'm really cheap.

It doesn't. I think it is a Fender neck though.

It's most likely a Squire with a Fender neck, but I can't find on the page where it specifically says it has a Fender neck. I would expect it to just be a Fender neck anyway, 'cos the person selling it would likely try to pass it off a real 70's Jazz. Anyway, Go try it out. At that price, it's a pretty good deal considering it has a Fender neck.

You're right, it doesn't say that, but it looks legitimate enough to actually be one.
Also, Squier VM Jazzes go for $300 US, but this person bought it for $400 (Canadian?), so they either got ripped off or the price was jacked because of the Fender neck. I'd assume the 2nd.
It does have the serial code and decal on the back of the headstock also, I don't know if that's where they (Fender) normally put it?

Edit: Sorry, I misread what they had about the price, ignore half of what I said.
