So when you play in a key, pentatonic scales have notes outwith the key signature, and they are not included within the mode family. I was wondering if there was a name or classification for them in that regard?

They're still in key. Pentatonic minor is just a minor scale with 2 notes taken out.

The Tense notes. That is why the Pentatonic Scale is taught to beginners so you dont have alot of ways to sound.. like poo... and the sound is very consonant.
