What musicans are the most unmusical eg shredders who just wank off with sweep picking and mindless fastness or brootally heavy bands where you cant make out the cookie monster vocals and there is not dynamics in the songs.

Yngwie Malmsteen I wish I had half the skill he has but the man can't write a song just scales.

I'm a fan, but I have to say EVH. Mainly because of his lack of theory knowledge.

I'm not a big fan of EVH but you do know he has a pretty big knowledge of theory due to his playing the piano? And just because a person lacks theory knowledge doesn't make them "unmusical".

Amazing.

The part with the spoken word vocals almost reminds me of Wintersun-type melodic death metal.

Everyone knows EVH doesn't even know the pentatonic or major scales.

I'm just saying pulling stuff together via continuous trial and error is very unmusician like. Also, he can't improvise well as a result.

Id totally disagree. It takes more musical ability to use your ear than it does to learn how to play in a key. Take marty friedman for example. He doesnt know any theory but his playing is extremely elegant and sophisticated.

You do know all of his solos are improvised? And yes, he does know scales. Every single guitarist on the face of the earth knows the pentatonic scale, especially if they've been playing for as long as EVH has.

Yes, but Friedman is talented enough to be able to improvise with a band using only his ear. Regardless, I'm sure I saw a video with him and Paul Gilbert and he was describing the pentationic scale and how using notes outside it can be good for blues.

You ever hear EVH try and make stuff up on the spot? It's not pretty.

Marty Friedman knows plenty of theory and uses it better than most other guitarists...

I strongly disagree. You are probably just thinking of the black rappers. That is in no way racist, it is truthful. White rappers are better. Except Eminem, he blows.
