By far my favorite: Relient K's cover of Sloop John B by the Beach Boys
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VJ2O0-CzeIQ&feature=related
it's one of my favorite bands doing an amazing cover of my favorite Beach Boys song!

And least favorite: Weezer's cover of Velouria by The Pixies
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ihU6TXtDs_8
I love Weezer, and I love the song Velouria, but it sounds EXACTLY like the Pixies version!

Placebo
Elliott Smith
Devendra Banhart
Pavement
Anberlin
Eve 6
The Clash
Imogen Heap
Ingrid Michaelson
Bayside
Minus The Bear

Least favorite. Most people trying to cover Bob Dylan. And GN'R's version of Live And Let Die. It's just horrible. Honestly

Favorite cover: Johnny Thunders cover of the Shangi La's song Great Big Kiss.

I prefer KSE's version of Holy Diver. Yeah, I said it.
And Nirvana's cover of Plateau, but that did have the Meat Puppets in it anyway.
And Johnny Cash's cover of hurt is awesome also.

I HATE Atreyu's cover of Epic. It sounds like a drunken Singstar party where everyone screams the vocals.
...In my opinion.

I'm almost positive that song doesn't have a breakdown...Killswitch Engage don't have that many to begin with. I like that cover.

Favorite - Death covering Judas Priest's "Painkiller" or Metallica covering Bob Seger's "Turn the Page".

Least favorite: Benighted covering Napalm Death's "Suffer the Children".

KSE's Holy Diver is straight up better than the original.

And I despise metalcore with every thing I am.

I think Sonata Arctica's cover of The Wind Beneath My Wings is great along with MAB's cover of Dream On

New Found Glory covering "Kiss Me".

I mean WTF?

WTF?

Listening to it.

Another favorite cover. Anyone covering an AC/DC song as the result is 100% better then the original.

Favorite: Limp Bizkit- Behind Blue Eyes
Limp Bizkit- Home Sweet Home/ Bittersweet Symphony
The Entire Punk Goes Pop Vol. 2 album, the best being Toxic by A Static Lullaby
And a lot of others that I am forgetting right now.

And I know you guys are going to flame, so have fun.

I prefer Quiet Riot's version of Cum on Feel the Noize, as opposed to Slade's original.

As for least favorite...hum...I don't care too much for Tori Amos's cover of Smells Like Teen Spirit. Too slow

Least Favorite - Mindless Self Indulgence's cover of Tom Sawyer... Ffs it's terrible.

Most Favorite - Pretty much everything on Rush's Feedback album, it's awesome. Heart Full of Soul is the best one though.

Well you see. I hate AC/DC so anything ruining their original sound of the song is a success for me.

Besides the obvious Along the Watchtower, my favorite cover at the moment is APC's version of "What's Going On" (originally by Marvin Gaye). Least favorite...well, I think the whole novelty of a metalcore or screamo band covering a pop song really drags on after the second or third listen... eg. the "Punk Goes..." series.

There's a live version of Auf der Maur/Hand of Doom doing Paranoid that I think is way cooler than Sabbath's, but that's probably because I don't like Sabbath.
The UG Awards exist only to instill me with existential doubt.
