Good luck strawforest. I'm going backpacking for a week in the UP of Michigan, so I'll check the results when I get back. Great Job to everyone who contributed to the duels and kept them alive.

Strawforest, yours was a little too chaotic for my tastes, this time around.

Sorry, it has to go to Aetherspear...

Great job, the both of you

Aetherspear...... Those have probably been the best two songs ive heard in all of the blues duels.

Strawforest....... Your tone was a bit too raunchy for my tastes on Sluggard to the Stoned. I really liked In The Cool Of The Evening though.

some cool songs, but wouldn't blues be the expected genre in a blues duel? Sloshed blues was the only one that was really what I would call blues, with strawforrests' tracks being more psychedelic rock with some blues tinges

I totally agree. Having recorded pretty much straight blues in every round so far I thought I'd go a bit crazy and branch the theme out a bit. Still blues though!

Not to have a dig at any of the duellers, but I submited newly recorded tracks for each round which I feel is how it should be done rather than re-submitting previously used tracks. If I didn't stand by my principles I would submit August Of Wind and Staid [HG Blues] on my profile, just it makes it much less of a duel when tracks have been heard already.

Not to take away the brilliance of Aetherspears' tracks though. Deservedly looks to have wrapped this duel up already!

Anyway, at least we have the duels which is excellent!

Basic rules and time frames etc will be made for the next duels, which will be discussed in the sign-up thread after this duel is complete...

Peace

I am going to vote for Strawforest (made a scale of 6 possible points to explain why):

Four on six: good song but in my point of view too smooth (5 from 6 points)
Sloshed Blues: I don't like the sound and it's not catchy enough (2 from 6 points)

In the cool of the evening: awesome (6 from 6 points)
Sluggard to the stoned: the tone wasn't that good but it remembered me of John McLaughlins sound on "Right off" .... a bit too long but you quoted "Peter Gunn Theme" (3 from 6 points)

Makes 7 to 9 for Strawforest for me

However, both of you have got great technique and you can sound amazing

lol recycling tracks is a bit cheap isn't it -_-? rest on your laurels much, less composing more raw improvisation IMO

That is the most confusing bracket I've ever seen.
