Well - after reading a billion threads about people asking about MG's, Spiders etc. I think it's time someone started a thread about guitar products to avoid...

Sorry if this has been done before...I searchbarred and got nothing'

I am not trolling and I am not trashing everything - I just want to help newbie's out

Ok Let me get the ball rolling:

The obvious:

*The Marshall MG
Reasons:

-It's got horrible tone, they sound really bad. The OD channel is awful - so nasty
-Yes it's a Marshall, but you're paying for the name!
-Overpriced for what you get
-Sounds awful when cranked

Verdict - The 15w practice amp is doable - it just won't sound good, anything greater is just plain stupid. There are much better alternatives.

Line 6 Spider III

Reasons:

-Horrible Tone, Massive tone sucker
-Sounds awful when cranked

Verdict - Not a bad 15w practice amp but again - stupid to buy anything bigger. There are much better alternatives - Vox AD/VT series, Peavey Vypyr

If admins want it removed then ok - though I think this need its own thread
The gear:

* Epiphone Les Paul Custom
* Schecter Jeff Loomis Signature 7 String
* Fender Squier P Bass
* Blackstar Stage HT-60
* Original Crybaby
* EHX Small Clone
* Boss DD-3

I personally feel the MG series isn't that bad, yes there's better options, but you can use an MG to good effect at times

You'll find whisky very different, but try it and you'll grow into it, soon you and whisky are one, but still two, lovers dancing across a frozen lake under moonlight, wrapped in honey and warmth.

Sums up whisky perfectly

I understand you had noble intentions with this thread, but I think this thread would result in a flame war.

And in the end, tone comes down to personal opinion.
Feel free to call me Kyle.

Just so you know, I read everything you type in a Mike Rowe from Dirty Jobs voice.
