Do you believe they control capitalist markets/western governments etc? 14 presidents were freemasons including the 2 George Bush's. What do you think about the NWO theories?

America? Capitalist?

Sorry man but these days the idea that America is even remotely capitalist is ridiculous.

No apology required. I never said America was capitalist. Also fyi, the multinational corporations which generate the majority of the countries GDP are based on capitalist principles so there you go.

The masons are a youth club with legitimate beer. They exist to help each other out, with whatever. Simple as that.
NWO? If you mean the 'Bilderberg Group', then yeah, same as above. But for political and commercial high-fliers. Presidents, CEO's etc.

America is currently a hybrid between the old capitalism that made America the great nation that it is and new socialism. Due to the intense government interference into the free markets (mainly in reference to money that is "borrowed" under credit) we now have a capitalist market under which nearly everything that is produced and sold (especially in the real estate market) is bought and sold with hypothetical money; "guaranteed" to be authentic by the US government.

My point being that it could be said America's "capitalism" is resting on socialist principles.

It's capitalism. Because however you dress it up, your government (and ours) are too in love with capitalism to let it die. If the governments bail out failing businesses to the tune of billions of pounds/dollars/euros/whatever, they're effectively wallet-raping the public who pay for it anyway. How much more capitalist oligarchy do you want?

Besides, Jeb Hansarling's rant about 'the long slow slide into socialism' has kept me amused for some time.

God bless America: the only country where you can lose an election with more votes than the other guy!

Okay when you say America is not "remotely capitalist" I'm expecting a little more "we're living in a communist dictatorship and Obama is a socialist and yadda yadda yadda" stuff. That was disappointing.

Oh brother anyone who brings up the "bush stole the election" argument immediately loses any credibility.

Well all that is fine and dandy. But my point stands uncorrected; American capitalism is being supported by socialist ideals; government interference.

Perhaps you don't understand the definition of capitalism. Free-markets mean no government interference. They already ARE interfering in the free market. Thus, this nation is not capitalist, by definition.

America is a hybrid, halfway between capitalist and halfway socialist, and everyone is too busy hating on the other to get anything effective done.

As far as I'm concerned I get very mad when people say "Government needs to stay out of capitalism!" Yeah, because our free markets are doing so wonderful as it is, thanks to a few corporations who lend money that doesn't exist, we've effectively destroyed how it used to be.

The government did not destroy capitalism, the government is trying to give it a little push to get going again.

No. Capitalism and greed itself destroyed capitalism.

The Freemasons is a pub on the corner of our main street, it does good hearty pub meals plays host to a selection of local live music and incorporates an Irish bar at the back. I like to go there for saturday afternoon beers with my friends and watch the good looking girls walk past.

THIS is the true story of the Freemasons....

The bush thing just amuses me; it's a throwaway comment, so don't get all worked up about it.

Yeah capitalism self-destructed; but in the case of both our governments, they've sat with a blank chequebook, and asked their buddies "How much?", and signed it off. The voracious devouring of money is a characteristic of capitalism, and that system doesn't care where it comes from. If your buddy gives it willingly, whether bank or government, then take it, roll the dice again.
So this week, Goldman Sachs are reporting doing very well indeed. Will your government get its' sizeable handouts back? I doubt it. There will be corporate excuses to the public media, but out of sight, they'll all be congratulating each other on a heist well done.
Your politicians, and ours, will get lovely easy jobs with their corporate buddies, at the end of their political career. Don't kid yourself that your government's interfering; they're assisting, so that their own future's rosy.
The free market is never free - it needs to go hand in hand with a government that'll allow it the latitude to f**k up royally.

My dad used to be a free mason. He was a past master, but got sick of their lack of organisation. There is really no point to it though as far as I'm concerned, they're basically a charity group though.

And for those of you who want to join, you have to be asked to join.

I wouldn't go quite so far as to say it's the best hotel in Western Australia, that mantle goes to the Ocean Beach Hotel in Cottesloe!

Anyone who takes the time to look out at facts about our system will release that the world indeed is dominated. But not by a "secret group".

You people should take time to inform yourself about the monetary system, about debts and interests, and how it's all a vicious circle that can only create more and more debts. The inevitable outcome is the rich getting richer, and the poor getting poorer(the poor=you and me, as much as the third world people).

People need to realise that slavery is still around, and it's never been worst than it is at the moment. The only thing is that we are too blinded to see it. We are convinced that THIS is the way it should be. Yet, we all know it's false.

Watch Zeitgeist the movie and Zeitgeist Addendum. As much as it contains misinformation, the truth is still there. All they say about the government dominating the people, and about the monetary system is true.
