So if the following tab is tuned down 2 steps (CFA#D#GC) and I wanted to play this as if it were standard, how would I play it? Dont you move like 1 Fret up for every step lower (to keep the same note)?
C|----0--3--7--5-|
F|-0--------------|
A|----------------|
D|----------------|
G|----------------|
C|----------------|

you move up 2 frets for every step. i.e. 1 fret = a semitone

ESP LTD Phoenix-1000
Epiphone Les Paul Custom Silverburst

Yeah but in this case you can't move up two frets, you should use other strings with the same notes. So this will be like this:

e|-------------3--1---------------------------------------
B|-----1---4----------------------------------------------
G|--0-----------------------------------------------------
D|--------------------------------------------------------
A|--------------------------------------------------------
E|--------------------------------------------------------

hm, a little confused since I don't know much about semitones and steps. So the original tab is tuned down 2 steps. Playing it in standard would be this:

C|-------1--5--3-|
F|----2-----------|
A|-2--------------|
D|----------------|
G|----------------|
C|----------------|

To get a LOWER tuning to the HIGHER standard tuning, you basically move down 2 frets for every step, if I'm not mistaken. Thanks for the help by the way guys.
