Ive been writing a few songs in the past two months or so, and I think theyre ok and all, but some lines sound really cliche. I know sometimes its inevitable, but it really bothers me and sometimes I end up changing the whole song from what I wanted it to be.... Any advice for how to avoid being OVERLY cliche would be greatly appreciated.

I have no idea how to change it but I have the exact same problem

Whenever you come up with the line, think of the emotion or idea you are trying to convey, and think of a different way to say it. It's not that hard to think of something original. Just don't write down the first thing you think of if it seems cliche. There's nothing wrong with taking your time and contemplating what is the best way to write each line.
