So yeah... new bass day.

...what could it be? (Room's a bit messy atm )

Spector Euro NSCRFM5

Picked it up second hand at Bass Centre in South Melbourne yesterday, it's goddamn incredible, It has the Aguilar 2-band instead of the Spector "Tonedump". It's a 35" scale and the B String absolutely kills and the EMGs are punchy as hell

I have no redcording gear that would do it any justice and at all .
Just realized the pictures make it look really blue but it's really a violet finish.

Even better, i get bored of blue alot and ifm you turn them over the grain on the body wood looks cheap to me anyway.

Try and get some pics outside with some natural light that would be deadly.

I will echo the previous posts - that is a sexy Spector. You should take some better pictures of it to show that finish, I bet it is gorgeous upon closer inspection. If you can swing it get a recording of some sort up because I would love to hear that thing growl.

I'm going to steal that from you.

To me, that looks like their "Black and Blue" finish, not really purple. I could be wrong though.

Yeah I know, .
I posted a thread a while back when I found an emerald green 4 string NSCRFM on ebay for an incredible price and you came in flashing that thing around haha, sadly at the time I didn't have any funds
Then this thing showed up and knowing I'd never find another emerald green one I jumped on it, the violet is still very sexy though, and yeah it does need a bit of a clean.
It had it's first band practice tonight, it absolutley killed! I actually want another one because now I've got to chose whether to tune it down to Eb or keep it in standard, the other bass is an SR505 and the Spector just makes it sound like a toy.

Its that same exact bass. So ya, congrats. You use the same base as a legend who could use instuments costing way more if he wanted to, but doesn't. Actually, he said the its the best sounding bass he's ever played.

Also, who else thinks Tam is going to post here saying how badly she wants a Euro Spector.

But then who doesn't want one?

EDIT: You're actually using an older version of the one Alex uses. Basically the same thing. Technically its not even a Spector. Its an SSD (Stuart Spector Design) bass, which is the name he used from '91-'98 when he was trying to get his brand name back after Kramer went under.

It would've cost him $1400 if he didn't trade in the T-Bird.

I might be looking into that to much but, This is australia, our prices are skyrocketed. An epi t-bird is at 500 dollars resell at best and the spector is worth 2 grand or more.

Or if you meant it as a joke, i get it

This has already gone from an NBD to a Spector appreciation thread anyway. Just do it.

It was a joke - like the first prize of a raffle is 2 tickets to see the Toronto Raptors. Second prize is 4 tickets.

No I'm not, It's a Spector, I emailed the serial to PJ at Spector and he told me it's actually a Euro5 made around late 2000 to early 2001.
