I'd have to say ...And Justice for all, for the lack of audible bass, and Death Magnetic, for the horrendous clipping.

What are some good albums you feel were ruined by poor production?
There's a special sex move I do called the Charizard.
It's where you light the girls pubes, then put it out with your cum and run around the room flapping your arms screaming, "You don't have enough badges to train me!"

inb4 St Anger.

Also, probably And Justice For All.

I would have liked Kill Em All to be nicer audibly. Whatever.

the cd version of Raw power by the stooges. Actually I've never heard the vinyl, so I don't know if that's any better.
#8
Pretty much most of the early 80's metal bands and such.

Ride The Lightning with the songs sometimes seeming like their up a half step is really weird
#9
Vader - XXV
Slayer - Divine Intervention

not really ruined, but it could have been alot, and I mean a lot, better.

Iggy Pop just remixed it and upped the bass, polished a TEENY bit, but kept the violent rawness
Top 15:
Neutral Milk Hotel
Smashing Pumpkins
Placebo
Elliott Smith
Devendra Banhart
Pavement
Anberlin
Eve 6
The Clash
Imogen Heap
Ingrid Michaelson

A lot of Beatles records, although I'd say the production gives them more character.

... And Justice For All and Death Magnetic, St. Anger could have gotten the best production in the world and it still would have been **** though.

I wholeheartedly love Guided By Voices, not even production could ruin a GBV album

King Diamond - "Them". It just seems to be lacking lots of bass imo

Did you know the odds of a Vault-Tec shelter failing are 1,763,497 to 1?

A lot of Smashing Pumpkins recordings have notably bad EQing -- ridiculously piercing treble in parts and really flabby bass.

well, whatever version I have sounds terrible. And not in a good way.

What's with people mentioning Megadeth? Dave remastered all the albums in 2004 and they sound amazing.

For some reason, it sounds worse than their older albums.

Maybe they aren't talking about the remastered albums?

You must have the 1997 remaster. If you can find a copy of the CD from before 1997, it sounds much better.

I think the remaster of Peace Sells is a fair bit better than the original, but still sounds ****ing horrible, pity because the music is almost as good as on rust in peace imo...

Exactly. Their production quality went from good to utter shit.

When you listen to "Bullet Ride" and then listen to "Trigger", and it leaves you thinking, "what the fuck did they do?"

Oh i see what you're saying now. Yeah, i totally agree. Reroute sounded....muddy, while Clayman and everything before that was clear while keeping the same heaviness and sound.
