Hi, my cousin is looking for a crunch pedal to put inbetween his clean and solo tone.

he has already looked at the Boss Overdrive , Blues Driver and Super Overdrive. But he wants to look at other brands.

What do you recommend?

Probably a Ibanez Tubescreamer or a ProCo RAT.

There are plenty of clones of them around too that you can get pretty cheap.

OCD, crunch box, box of rock, what is your budget?

First of all, I enjoy deathcore for it's complexity and it's the only genre heavy enough for me

I want an amp good for playing hippie tunes. I want it to be an actual amp, not a tube amp.

No I have the rat, it goes from soft boost to crisp crunch to hairy fuzz . It is alot more versatile than you think (at least the old ones are). Not a stupid suggestion.
