My cat is using the front of my ****ing mesa 4x12 cab as a scratching post! What can i do to prevent this but not change the sound by putting stuff in front of it?

I thought it said scab...
But yeah, its called discipline. If that fails, get it one of those carpet scratching posts.

Turn your amp on and max the volume, and when your cat comes a a scratchin', blast a big tritone right in it's face. The cat would surely go deaf, but it wont scratch your cab anymore.

Fill up a spray bottle of water and keep it nearby. When cat scratches -> spray cat. Cat will learn not to scratch. Also, buy a scratching post.
#13
get a spray bottle or water gun. spray the cat. It's harmless but it's a good discipline for a cat.

or buy wolf urine and put it on the bottom of your amp.

a bit odd but I guarentee it will work

(yes, you can buy wolf and fox urine. most nursery and garden places have it)

Wait a minute this is totally moronic. I'm pretty sure your cat won't go near it whilst your playing so just put something in front of it when you aren't.

if it goes deaf its gonna be even more annoying.. i had a deaf cat (until it met its doom by not hearing a car) and it was even more annoying cause it couldnt hear. but it would be hilarious to see its reaction. especially with the vibrations in the floor.. :p
either way its bad - i dont know animals

You can put double sided tape on it. That's how we got our cats to stop scratching our furniture.

I don't always post on UG, but when I do, I post in the Pit. Stay thirsty my friends.

and the best thing to do would be to play A in as many octaves as possible, because everything in your room will vibrate with it, scaring the cat more than a diminsihed 5th/augmented fourth would as it can't hide anywhere in your room
