Im going for my license, and soon I'll begin financing on my bike. Im bringing an acoustic guitar with me and Im going to ride across canada, then head south to California.

Along the way with whatever money I have saved up with me, I'll busk to score spare cash for beer and gas.

Songs Im learning right now...

Bob Dylan - Subterranean homesick blues
Hendrix/Dylan - All along the watchtower
Cream - Strange brew
Cream - Tale of brave Ulysses
'Stones - Jumpin' Jack Flash
Stones - Sympathy for the devil
Jefferson Airplane - White Rabbit
Motorhead - Iron horse/born to lose (And pretty much that entire first album)
Pink Floyd - Mother

Recommendations ?

EDIT : George Thorogood - Who do you love?

Do some metallica
Failing that, some Cash would probably be good.

Rap is music, far better than metal for example. id much rather hear about hoes and anal sex than dragons and supressed homosexuality.

Just remember...some places, like here in the Boston area, you have to have a permit, and they DO inspect them. You should scope out where that's the law. All they can do is kick you out, but you may want to know, so you're not as obvious when you need permits.

Also, may I be too generic and suggest songs such as Hotel California and such?
Also, Big Bill Broonzy, his songs are straight up awesome with just an acoustic guitar.

...How do you get a permit ? And would it apply to other states/provinces ? Or do I need a permit for each place =P
