So, I'm in the kitchen making absolutely nothing of interest and my dad comes downstairs with this funny little green book that looks ancient. He opens it up and I see these pictures. I ask him why they are so special, and he tells me... (Boring story time, but it's important)

My grandmother (RIP) worked at the Pioneer's Museum here in Colorado Springs for many, many years and she came to be known by lots of people that visited there. Well one day, a man named James Irwin strolled in and they met and got into talking about the moon landing. James Irwin was on the Apollo 15 mission and he was the 8th man to walk on the moon. He and my grandmother became good friends over the next few years and, one day, he gave her a present. He gave her that little green book my dad had brought downstairs to show me.

I just stared in disbelief when my dad told me that. I wasn't sure if I believed him. So I went to check up on Mr. Irwin on wikipedia. All of the astronaut stuff was true, and I get to the bottom and it says he lived in Colorado Springs, which is the city my family has lived in for 3 generations. I knew now this wasn't a lie. These are original pictures that were taken by Mr. Irwin while he walked on the moon. His biography can be found HERE.

I'm sorry if this is a pointless thread, but I thought it was amazing. Anyways, I don't have a scanner, so i took pictures of the pictures

Here they are:

I hope you enjoyed this little story of mine. And PLEASE, no "lyk dat muun landng was lik soooooo fak cuz if u look at da flag..."

You're biased, so your opinion doesn't count. It's like how every mother thinks her kid is the cutest one in the play, even though Jimmy is convinced that he's Mr. Peanut.

Only reversed and creepy. Though it could be worse (better?), at least she's not massaging your johnson.

edit: I thoroughly enjoyed the thread by the way.

wow, thats something to hold on to, cool pics

speaking of the moon, on a ratio of planet size to moon size (earth vs. moon) its the largest in our solar system compared to its parent planet. Scientists say its definately too large to have been captured by Earths gravity during formation of the solar system. Another early theory was it was slung off during Earths molten stage but later scientists say it doesnt contain enough iron to be of the earth and again it has too much mass to have been caught in Earths gravity in a molten state.

watch this part3, 4 and 5 of a good 5 part series:
http://www.history.com/video.do?name=The_Universe&bcpid=1406608117&bclid=1799109045&bctid=1797742732

Now the latest theory of the Earth being whacked by something big very early on is the accepted hypothesis BUT this ends up lending some credability to Zecharia Sitchin's ancient Sumerian story of an ancient Earth known as Tiamat being hit by a body in the Nibiru system which passes thru our system every 3600 years inhabited by alien proginators known as the Annunaki, sounds hokey to me:

http://www.bibliotecapleyades.net/sumer_anunnaki/esp_sumer_annunaki22.htm

Perhaps we should believe John Lear and his claims that the moon is an alien craft/outpost with huge structures and propulsion systems built onto the dark side that NASA has intentionally smudged for decades?

Or should we consider what psychic remote viewer Ingo Swann as part of CIA Project Stargate (which cost taxpayers millions to psychic-spy on Russians during the cold war) saw while remote viewing the dark side of the moon? Ingo claims to have seen tracks, mining type of equipment and base type structures along with 2 humanoids while remotely viewing the dark side for an intelligence officer known as Mr. Axlerod. BTW Ingo described rings of debris around Jupiter which was unknown until Pioneer verified this a few years after his remote viewing of the planet.
