So far its pretty sweet, has a lot of gain. The clean channel is pretty nice aswell, I'm trying to get some of the fizz out if anyone could help me with some settings or I'm not sure if I need it louder.

Sweet amp man! I have it's budget ripoff version, but if it's anything to go by, I use these settings:

For the lead: treble 4.5, mids 4, bass 7, gain 10. Damping switch set to loose. Same on rhythm but with less bass. Try turning the treble on the clean channel all the way up to 10, sounds nice and sparkly

if you're trying to get less fizzy, this is the last thing you want to do. use the crunch channel, set the gain at >6, then EQ to taste

Head and Cab for $130? You don't need a head and cabinet, you need a psychological examination.

It's not fizzy at all with those settings. There's hardly any difference between 5 and 10 on the gain.

^well then why bother turning the gain to 10? it'll just make things loose and messy. if i remember right, i had the gain at maybe 3.5-4 on the rhythm channel when i played it, and that was all i needed tbh..

Sounds fuller imo, the amp is tight enough not to sound messy or overly loose. Then again, it depends on the music you play how much gain you want. I like it maxed out for death metal, for example. If you want it tighter, I guess you could lower the gain and put the damping on high.

i have pretty much the same amp except yours is loaded with El-34s other than that the wiring is all the same, i suggest turning down the gain, i never needed it to go past noon. you can also try turning down the treble a bit.

Nice amp man. I've really enjoyed it everytime I've played it. I think it is sorted but putting the Gain on 10 is bad idea. You'll get it dialed in soon enough. Clips would be smashing!

HNAD

Also, post in my New Peavey's thread too. You can probably find it easily if you search on 3120.

Edit: I thought it was going to be a Laney at first too
