I'm pretty sure the wiring in my guitar input is messed up. My input jack on my guitar and in my amp are tightened and stay in place fine...but I've used multiple guitar cables plugged in my guitar and this always happens:

I'll plug the cable into the guitar and play for a few minutes, and then for some reason the distortion will cut out. At first I thought this might have been because of my EMG pickups losing battery power, so I exchanged batteries and STILL the same thing happened. I'm pretty sure this is due to faulty interal wiring in my guitar.

I could take it to a local music shop and get it repaired...but I might have to fork over some money to do so. How much money (on average) would this repairing cost?

I had the same problem, sounds to me like its the toggle switch which is only a $10 part.
