Hi there,

My friend bought cheap old bass amp(15watt) by mistake instead of guitar amp. It contain TDA7350A chip. As you know guitar usually sounds weird in bass amp. He asked me to convert this to guitar amp.

Now i know it may not be possible to convert this into guitar amp easily(as far my knowledge is concerned).

So i decided to build diy guitar chip amp from its spare parts. So tell me wat can i use from bass amp spare parts, other than it transformer or case .

Do i need to change speakers?

I think only a guitar preamp will sufficient to make it good for guitar. Correct me if i am wrong.

So please share your advice and links.

And about me, iam doing diy electronic stuff from reading guides on internet with very less knowledge of theory. And from this year i will be starting B.E. in Electronic.

and sorry for bad English and typos.

your one of those people that would rather spend hours fiddling with electronics rather than spending 10 minutes and bringing it back to the store

You can play a guitar thru a bass amp and it wont sound weird. I do it all the time and really like the active EQ controls vs regular passive. You shouldnt need to mod it to play a guitar thru it. Most bass amps just dont have clean/dirty channel set up is all. Run a dirt box in front of it.

Some of the best cleans for guitars come from bass amps. I've never plugged into a bass amp and thought "This sounds weird". Its just a very flat, clean tone.

Just changing the preamp should be OK, however before you turn a working amp into a large paperweight, try plugging whatever preamp you make into the effects return or CD in if it has one.

http://www.ssguitar.com/ and http://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/ are good sources of info on guitar amp electronics.

thanks. i will try that.

Well to other who suggested to return the amp. The amp cannot be be return because we have verify each and every at shop before buying it and if after it any things turn odd then shop is not responsible.
Why ?because amp is really cheap, about $5(equivalent to our currency) and in full working condition. So because of this i cannot return.

See your yourself
