I'm stuck with around $500 to put towards a decent tube combo amp.

I play Post-Rock, and I currently do not have a giggable amp.

I would like 50 watts of power, and a great clean tone.
It does not need to have any built in effects, but would be great if it had reverb.

The reason I need 50 watts is because a lot of places we would play are NOT miced.

Distortion is not really needed, but if it could fuzz up, it would be great.

Just need some recommendation on amps to check out.

if your gigs are not mic'd, how is your singer heard?

He means instead of having a PA the whole band could be amplified through, the singer has his own PA and the rest of the band use their amplifiers.

You could get a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe for less that $500.

Exactly.

And, we don't have a singer.

gotcha I was just curious. Then TS for your budget as people have already stated, Peavey Classic 30 or 50. if you're not gonna mic it then you might wanna check out the head/cab version for a fuller sound

I assumed that I would get a better response on the main board, as discussion in the Post-Rock thread seems to be pretty linear sometimes.

Reverbs start around $500, but quickly jump to around 7-800 before the bidding ends. :/

But, if I am looking at a Peavey Classic 50, do I want the 2x12 or the 4x10?

How does a guitar sounds through 10" speakers?
