i have seen them played before by pretty big name people like the dude from foo fighters. it looks like a p bass but has a more angular headstock and a round bridge. usually a maple neck. thanks.

Nate Mendel uses Fender P basses i think, but he occasionally uses A Lakland Bob Glaub Signature P bass, so that might the answer to your question.

nate has retired his old fender from touring now and uses laklands pretty much all of the time.
