Hi, im trying to find a new bass that's good for playing any kind of rock or some heavy metal. I'v looked at a few basses so far and there are a few that caught my attention

1- Aria SB-CB -

http://www.ariausa.com/basses/sbcb.html

2- Fender Stu Hamm Urge II -

http://www.fender.com/products//search.phppartno=0191508806

Can any1 give me any recomendations?
Thanks,
NoReEeEe

P.S.: The last 2 basses on the poll are just to take up space =D

i know the last 2 aren't as good. But the Aria one i have up there is a more modern model of what cliff burton used.

he did use one. But i'm not sure if i'd get one because they have something covering the strings close to the bridge, and that's where i usually play

You could always take it off or play around it.

The SB-CB that you can get on eBay or whatever is not the actual bass Cliff played, which was approx. $2400...

I believe the SB-1000CB is his exact model, whereas the CB is watered down; I got this information over at TB while I was trawling through Google.

Edit: If you are getting either, I would recommend the Urge.

Nobody is going to wonder what I picked if you've been around here a while, lol....

I shall own an Urge II some day! I shall!!

still though, i need to find somewhere i can try these basses.
I'v heard some1 use the urge b4 and it sounds awesome.
But so is the Aria (Cliff's the man)
The only reason i'm looking a little more at the Aria bass is that i use distortion alot for solos and just to screw around, and i know it sounds good on distortion, and the B.B. Circuit can help me switch tones quickly w/out me having to go to my pedal.
I wanna try out the Urge though kuz i have no idea how that sounds if it's distorted

I see no contest. The Stu Hamm bludgeons the others to death with the might of its three pickups, Fender build quality, and sheer awesomeness. But really, it's not much of a comparison. You have some pretty opposite ends of the spectrum there.

TL;DR: Saw a girl at Wal-Mart, she started feeling me up, I jizzed in my pants.

Shit, I'm so pathetic.

[quote="'[BurnTheDusk"]']I agree, tone does sound better the closer your genitals are to the ground.

Crabcore?

UNACCEPTABLE

With those Jazz pickups on the Urge, you should be able to get a good distortion tone.
They are pretty versatile....

Everybody and their grandmother plays guitar. True men play bass.

it won't harm the bass, but it will harm the children, and I for one love the children.
