Stop.

Think.

The Spider is a modeling amp. What would you need multi-fx with a modeling amp?

Save your money, don't buy the GT-8.

you're not gonna want to take a dump in a gross, off-colored, vintage toilet. you want something that is white and pearly; something that shines. something that you can put your cheeks against and say, "f*** yeah"

of course it would work... it's just an effect unit; it'll play thru any amp...

but as has been stated, it's not that necessary when you have a modeling amp, plus you'd be better off buying the GT8, selling the line6, and getting a nice simple one-channel tube amp to use with your new GT8

Use the money for a better amp. Spiders blow for gigging. They are practice amps and nothing more. Why the hell did you buy a 150W one?

They take pedals horribly. I plugged some **** into my friends 75W Spider and the only thing that sounded semi-decent was a Boss SD-1 (used as a clean boost)

If you're looking to use pedals, get a Fender tube amp of some sort.

umm dont buy the MFX, it wont sound good through your Spider..
just trade your amp for a better one

No, it will not work, nothing works when it's plugged into a spider 3.
Lets jump in a pool

Jesus christ guys. He's asking if a multi FX will work through his amp. He's not asking if his amp is good, so stop telling him to get a new amp.

TS, the first post perfectly answered your question. Ignore the rest.

The answer is yes a multi FX will work thru your spider. But as said would not be a good investment. It will work but may not sound so good. As you already have an amp packed full of models and FX you just need the FBV pedal to access them easier.
