+1 for the OP.

I think there are pedals that enable you to do it but I'm not entirely sure.

You're right, that is weird. You win.

if your cab is stereo you can hook up one head to the left and one to the right, or you get buy a morley a/b/y switch

First of all, I enjoy deathcore for it's complexity and it's the only genre heavy enough for me

I want an amp good for playing hippie tunes. I want it to be an actual amp, not a tube amp.

what if i wan to run them both at the same time? like distortion from one,
then to the other ones delay?

http://www.tonebone.com/tb-headbone-vt.htm For A/B

For a wet/dry Y, you either need a cab with stereo inputs (very rare) or you simply need another cab.

For a normal Y, you need a load box with a line out, and reamp/slave the first head into the second one. Or you could always use the preamp/headphone line out if there is one, but make sure that activating it means that the amp doesn't need a load (cab) connected oryou could damage it.

I dont understand how you would use an AB box for 2 amp heads in one speaker? Does that mean you would need to connect the speaker cables into the ab box?
#10
It's not an A/B box. It's a head switcher. You connect both heads' speaker calbes to it and connect it to the cab. When you have one head on, it puts the other one on a dummy load until you switch it, then it connects that one to the cab and puts the other one on a dummy load. It even has a safety system so that if it fails it sets both to load or something like that.

hmm, two heads one cab... kinda like two girls one cup?

srsly tho... u need to know a few things:
1) what ohm rating does each head have?
2)what ohm rating on the speakers?

one fellow mentioned a pedal -probably meant an ab switch - this will allow you two play two amps simultaneously but will not handle the output problem - afa I know you cannot simply plug two heads into the sm speakers... this will result in problems.

so... rewire the speaker cabinet - it's easy - I or many others will be happy to walk you thru it. http://www.termpro.com/articles/spkrz.html -this link has all u need to know just ask questions.

lets assume a 4x12 cab... I'd wire it up with three jacks: one for each set of two speakers and then wire one of the sets to the third jack so that you can put in a jumper cable and get back to a 4x12 cab should you want to. I did this on a 2x12 cab so I could run one cab in stereo or go back to my 2 * 2x12 cabs.
you still need to determine what ohms both heads are capable of and wire the speakers series or parallel to give you that (hopefully).
this would all require that you have an a/b/y pedal to allow 1 amp, other amp, both amps.

another option... depending on the flexibility of your heads... if one has a preamp out... you could cascade that pre out into the other amps in for mega distortion... but you'd still need to wire the initial head to a 'dummy coil' so you don't blow it -IT MUST HAVE A SPEAKER LOAD OR IT WILL BLOW!. I've had a lot of luck buying crappy speakers at a rummage sale pointing them towards each other, taping it all to hell and voilla - speaker soak.

can't think of much else right now but I know there must be other options...

upon reading former responses... my advice = sm advice as bart.

ok.
thank you.
but i dont want to switch betweeen heads.
i want to run both of these 8 ohms
solid state heads at the same time.
i was going to run the crate through the laney.
and use crates distortion
and the effects on the laney.
so, i could have delay on the crates lead channel.

is there anything i could use for a dummy whatever?
like, just, run it through something...
like, end it up in a pedal or something.lol

That doesn't help I'm afraid. You want the Crate's distortion and the Laney's delay, that means you need to run the Crate into the Laney, not the Laney into the crate. Exactly which Crate is it?

i know.
but i can still use the delay for cleans and whatnot,
and use the crates reverb.
uhm.
GT100fx i believe, i could be wrong.
laney something fx.
